On January 26th, 2012, my mom Marcia received a lifesaving bone marrow stem cell transplant.

Every day since then, she’s been in remission from Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia, and while many days have been difficult and she bears many scars, internal and external, from her battle with ALL, every day has been precious.
Without the support of the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society, the pioneering treatment protocol and the stem cell technology that helped save my mom’s life would not have been available.
So this year, to celebrate the “extra” 5 years I have been able to spend with my mom, 5 years that allowed her to see me get married, and become a father to her first grandchild, I am going to give something back to LLS in her honor. And you can help.
Each extra day with my mom is priceless: but what if we each was worth $5? Could you support a day? 10? 50? 365?
Between January 26th 2012, and March 25th, 2018, when I’ll complete the Lavaman Waikoloa Triathlon in my mom’s honor, there will have been 2,251 days. That is 5 extra Thanksgivings. 5 extra anniversaries with my father Bill. 150 more September days, the month she was born, and when the weather is nicest in San Francisco. My mom volunteers at the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society headquarters in San Francisco 3 days a week. Thats about 300 days she’s given back directly already.
Can you help me raise $5 for each day my mom volunteered at LLS ($1500)? Can you give $5 for each Christmas my mom got to spend with her family, so that people diagnosed with blood cancer today can spend Christmas with theirs ($25)? Donate to match the days you’ve spent with Marcia since 2012, so that others can live to spend those days with their loved ones.
