My final design brought the conceptual Meander into place on the site, while providing a fire pit, expanded pond with pergola, reduced (but not eliminated) lawn, expanded and more accessible terraced vegetable gardens, two “micro-orchards” for the permaculture-passionate client to experiment with fruit tree guilds, and several themed micro-gardens for clustered perennials. Lots of seating options and site lines allow the client grandma to keep at least one eye on her young grandchildren. The outdoor kitchen is designed to build off of and protect an existing cob oven, while adding dimension, storage and safety. Continue reading Permaculture Design: Recca Residence
