Instagram Story on #FoodLoss for World Food Day

#WorldFoodDay is a big opportunity.

For this story, I wanted to draw attention to the connection between #foodloss, the biggest reason for wasted food in developing countries, and food systems. If we want to design food systems that minimize food loss between the farm and the consumer, we need to work directly with farmers to find out what is causing food loss in their communities. This can lead to some surprisingly elegant solutions, and cool business models.

I also wanted to connect #WorldFoodDay, a very popular hashtag, with the annual campaign we’re running at the same time. So I kept the branding on this content close to our campaign’s and I concluded the story sequence with a direct call to action to support landscape leaders, accompanying the post with a link, and running the campaign link as our bio link in instagram for the entire 72 hour period surrounding #WorldFoodDay.
